Our take
The York Barbell PVC dumbbell feels well-built with a solid steel core. The ergonomic chrome handle is comfortable, though I wish it had a bit more knurling for sweaty hands. The PVC coating is smooth and protects floors, but it doesn't offer as much grip as rubber. At 24 lbs (listed weight) it's close to advertised. However, for nearly $90 for a single, I expected more—like a warranty or better grip. It's a decent dumbbell, but the price is steep compared to options with rubber coating.
