About this product

This vintage pair of Weider dumbbells features chrome-plated heads with plastic grips. Each dumbbell weighs 25 lb, totaling 50 lb for the pair. The chrome finish is classic and resistant to rust. The plastic handles are ergonomic but may be less durable. These are fixed-weight dumbbells, not adjustable. Made in the USA, they have a vintage aesthetic that appeals to collectors. The set is intended for unisex adult use in weight training. The weight is pre-printed on each dumbbell.

Our take

I picked up these vintage Weider dumbbells for the nostalgia factor, and they look great in my home gym. The chrome is still shiny, and the plastic handles are comfortable for most exercises. However, being vintage, the weights are not as precise as modern ones—I weighed them and they're around 24.5 lb each. The plastic grips can feel a bit slippery under heavy loads, and the construction feels less refined compared to new rubber-coated dumbbells. If you're a collector or want a classic look, these are nice. For pure function, there are better options at this price.
